Step 1:

Choose an accredited SEG supplier: Next, you need to find an accredited SEG supplier who is willing to provide you with a SEG tariff. SEG suppliers are electricity suppliers who offer tariffs for the surplus energy you export back to the grid. Make sure to compare different suppliers and their tariffs to choose the best option for you. Complete the registration process: Contact your chosen SEG supplier and express your interest in registering for the scheme. They will guide you through their registration process, which typically includes providing your personal and contact details, the capacity of your renewable energy system, and other relevant information.

Step 2:

Install an export meter (if required): The SEG requires you to have an export meter installed to measure the amount of electricity you export back to the grid accurately. If you don’t already have an export meter, your SEG supplier can help arrange for its installation. Note that some suppliers may offer a deemed export tariff without the need for an export meter.

Step 3:

Receive SEG payments: Once your registration is approved, you can start exporting surplus energy back to the grid. Your SEG supplier will calculate the amount of energy you export and provide payments based on the agreed tariff. Payments can be made either periodically or through arrangements agreed upon with your supplier.
